How Does an Emsculpt Treatment Burn Fat?

The intense muscle stimulation created during an Emsculpt treatment accelerates the fat burning process and actually destroys some of those fat cells. The body then naturally eliminates the dead cells, creating a smoother, more toned appearance where a stubborn pocket of fat previously existed.

What to Expect During an Emsculpt Treatment

The treatment applicator is shaped like a paddle with a handle and it is strapped to the treatment area. Once the treatment begins, the applicator delivers pulses of electromagnetic energy to the treatment area which causes the muscles there to rapidly contract. Patients may experience some discomfort similar to what they would feel during a workout. The treatment begins with a lower setting and gradually increases based on the patient’s tolerance. Most patients are able to reach 100% intensity during their first treatment. There are also resting phases in between contractions that allow for lactic acid to be flushed out of the treatment area. This reduces post-treatment soreness. Some patients just relax during treatment while others read or catch up on emails with their phone or tablet.

The Results

Most patients receive four Emsculpt treatments over a two week period, giving the muscles a few days to rest in between. While some patients begin to see results after two weeks, most will not begin to see visible results until four to six weeks after receiving their last Emscuplt treatment.
