Pico Focus Facial – The Benchmark of Facial Rejuvenation Treatments

 In Blog, Skin Rejuvenation

Do signs of aging or sun damage have you feeling less than happy with your reflection in the mirror? You’re not alone. The face is typically one of the first places to show signs of aging. Your skin loses its elasticity resulting in fine lines and wrinkles. Meanwhile, your skin tone can become uneven, displaying dark age spots or hyperpigmentation from years of exposure to the sun. However, if you aren’t willing to have cosmetic surgery and go under the knife unnecessarily, you may think there’s nothing you can do. With the demand for non-surgical cosmetic procedures on the rise and technology rapidly evolving, there are more options available than ever and the Pico Focus Facial is one of them.

What is Pico Focus Facial?

Other than Botox, facials are one of the most common facial rejuvenation treatments. These include everything from chemical peels and microdermabrasion to microneedling and laser treatments. Since the introduction of the Fraxel laser in 2005, laser skin rejuvenation treatments have come a long way. Now there is also the Pico Focus Facial, a laser skin resurfacing treatment that can reduce signs of aging and skin damage.. This FDA-cleared skin treatment can effectively reduce the appearance of benign pigmented lesions, wrinkles, and acne scars.

What Makes PicoSure Focus Different?

What sets PicoSure Focus apart is that it is the first generation of aesthetic lasers that don’t rely on heat to produce results. It delivers rapid energy that breaks up unwanted dark spots and hyperpigmentation. The energy is focused on the treatment areas and does not damage the surrounding skin.

The Pico Focus Facial promotes the production of collagen and elastin, which hydrate the skin and improve its elasticity. The result is tighter, younger-looking skin, but the Pico Focus Facial doesn’t stop there. It can also reduce the appearance of acne scars and improve the overall texture of your skin.

Does a Pico Focus Facial Hurt?

Facial rejuvenation treatments with PicoSure Focus are not painful. Patients have reported feeling temporary discomfort during the treatment and described it as a warm, prickly sensation. To reduce any discomfort you may experience, a topical numbing cream is applied before administering the treatment.

The duration of each treatment is typically ten minutes, but this can vary depending on the size of the treatment area. Patients experience only minor post-treatment swelling and redness which dissipate within a few hours. There is virtually no downtime, allowing you to immediately return to your normal activities. You can even apply moisturizers or sunscreen right after treatment.

How Long Do the Results Last?

PicoSure Focus typically provides long-lasting results when treating wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. However, because these types of skin imperfections are often the result of aging, they may eventually reappear. Follow-up treatments about six months apart have shown a reduction in the reoccurrence of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. When PicoSure Focus is used to treat acne scars, the results are permanent.

Are There Pre-Treatment Preparations?

Yes. You must let your physicians know if you have any medical conditions, allergies, or skin infections, as certain medications should be avoided two weeks before treatment. You will also need to avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen with a high SPF.  If you smoke, you will have to refrain during this period.
