Do you look in the mirror and wish you could turn back the clock a few years? Or perhaps you find yourself regretting all the sunbathing that has now resulted in dark spots? Don’t you wish there was a way to correct these skin imperfections that keep you from feeling confident and looking your best? Now there is – the HALO laser treatment.

What Makes HALO Different?

We know what you’re thinking. There are already so many aesthetic laser skin treatments available, what sets the HALO laser apart from the others?

HALO laser treatment is an advanced aesthetic procedure that combines non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to safely and effectively target skin imperfections, including age spots, discoloration, sun damage, melasma, uneven tone, and texture. HALO laser treatment offers a wide range of benefits from reducing the appearance of wrinkles to improving overall skin quality.

HALO  is a hybrid fractional laser system that uses two different wavelengths – non-ablative wavelengths for deeper tissue penetration and ablative wavelengths for surface ablation. This combination allows HALO to provide results with less downtime than traditional laser treatments.

Which Skin Imperfections Can HALO treat?

HALO laser treatments are safe for all skin types and can address many common skin  imperfections including:

  • Age spots
  • Discoloration
  • Sun damage
  • Melasma
  • Uneven tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Overall skin quality improvement.

What Should You Expect?

A HALO laser treatment begins with applying a topical numbing cream to the treatment area. The HALO laser device will deliver energy pulses that target and heat both, the epidermis and dermis layers of skin. You may experience a warm sensation similar to the warmth of a mild sunburn. On average, a HALO laser treatment lasts 30 minutes. However, this may vary depending on the area being treated.

The HALO laser utilizes a Mecotec Cryoair chiller which provides cold air to the treatment area during and after treatment to ease the residual warmth and mild tingling.

What About Results and Downtime?

Typically it will take one or two sessions for the HALO laser treatment to produce the desired result. Your provider will determine if additional treatments are necessary for your specific skin issue.

Downtime is normally 7-10 days but for some clients, it is less. During your downtime, you will experience dry, itchy skin and redness. While it may be difficult, resist the urge to scratch the treated area. Apply sunscreen and moisturizer until the dry skin falls away and the redness fades. You must continue to use sunscreen daily for three months after treatment.

The appearance of visible results can vary but most individuals will begin to see result about one week after treatment. Your skin will continue to improve for 2-3 months following treatment.

Are HALO Results Permanent?

No. As you continue to age, many skin imperfections will reappear. So, how often should you refresh your appearance with a follow-up HALO laser treatment? This also varies depending on the individual but follow-up treatments are typically recommended once a year. Your provider will work with you to determine the appropriate timeframe for your follow-up treatments.
