CoolSculpting – Look Fabulous Heading into the New Year

With the holiday season almost here, it’s not too soon to prepare for New Year’s Eve. If you and your significant other are making plans for a big night out to celebrate, you’ll want to look your best. Maybe you’ve got your eye on a slim, tailored jacket or the perfect little black dress but a few stubborn pounds have you wondering if you can actually pull it off. Stop worrying and schedule a consultation for CoolSculpting.

A non-surgical fat reduction procedure, CoolSculpting reduces the number of fat cells in treated areas using a controlled-cooling method known as Cryolipolysis. This process freezes fat cells in the treated area, causing them to die. The cells are then naturally eliminated from the body over time. Because the fat cells are the first to freeze, the healthy skin cells surrounding the treated area are not affected. As the dead cells are eliminated, you’ll begin to see your body become more contoured.

Wondering What to Expect?

There is always some anxiety when considering an aesthetic treatment of any kind. Knowing what to expect throughout the process can help alleviate that anxiety.

Consultation

First, you will meet with your CoolSculpting provider for a one-on-one consultation. Your provider will be a physician or another medical professional who has been trained as a CoolSculpting clinician. They will review your medical history and discuss which areas of your body you want to focus on to achieve the sculpted shape you want.

Your clinician will provide you with a treatment plan customized for your needs. Some people may only need one treatment and others may require multiple treatments. Together, you will decide which areas should be treated. Some providers have multiple CoolSculpting systems and can treat different body areas at the same time.

Treatment

Once you and your clinician have decided which areas to treat, a gel pad and the appropriate applicator are positioned on the targeted area. CoolSculpting applicators deliver controlled cooling to the targeted fat cells. During the procedure, you may experience intense cold for the first 5 or 10 minutes. This will subside as the area begins to numb. Most applicators use a vacuum to draw fatty tissue into the applicator cup. This could cause you to feel some mild pulling or pinching in the treated area.

Treatment can last from 35 to 60 minutes depending on your specific treatment plan. During that time you can read, catch up on your emails or just relax. After the treatment, you may feel some tingling as the area is massaged for 2 or 3 minutes. Patients typically return to normal activities following their treatment. Some people even get CoolSculpting on their lunch hour and go right back to work.

Results

With CoolSculpting, you should start to see changes in as little as 3 weeks. The most dramatic results should become evident about 2 months after your treatment. Your body will continue to eliminate dead fat cells for up to 3 to 4 months following treatment. It is important to schedule a follow-up visit with your CoolSculpting provider to review your results and discuss the option of additional treatments.
