BBL Hero – The Next Generation of Cosmetic Skin Treatments

 In Aesthetics, Blog, Skin Rejuvenation

There is no shortage of cosmetic skin treatments available, and they are constantly evolving to provide better results. One of the most recent additions is BBL Hero which can effectively address a variety of unwanted skin conditions. Before we jump into explaining the benefits of this treatment, let’s take a look at what it is and how it works.

What is BBL Hero?

BBL is an acronym for broadband light. While this type of therapy isn’t new, BBL Hero takes it to new heights. It uses intense light pulses to address various skin conditions at a cellular level to increase collagen production and rebuild your skin’s structure. By using advanced technology to deliver light energy deep into the layers of the skin, this noninvasive procedure can effectively reverse visible signs of aging and other types of skin damage.

So what makes it different from other broadband light therapies?

The answer can be found in the second acronym that makes up its name – HERO – which stands for “high energy, rapid output.” BBL Hero is 4X faster and 3X more powerful than most other broadband light therapies. Depending on the severity of your skin issues, that speed and power make it possible to treat your entire body in just 30 minutes! The BBL Hero also has integrated thermoelectric monitoring that provides 2X the cooling comfort. This allows for a more comfortable treatment with virtually no discomfort or downtime.

Is BBL the Same as a Laser Treatment?

The BBL difference is that it uses a broad spectrum of light rather than the single wavelength used by most lasers. The light can be filtered in different ways to address multiple skin issues and treat a larger area than a laser.

Which Skin Issues Can Be Treated?

While it was designed primarily to reduce hyperpigmentation, BBL Hero can effectively treat a variety of other skin issues including:

  • Sun damage
  • Acne scarring
  • Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Dull or uneven skin tone
  • Rough or dry skin texture
  • Redness
  • Rosacea

BBL Hero destroys the melanin cells that cause dark spots and other hyperpigmentation associated with aging. The increased collagen production stimulated by BBL Hero smooths skin to reduce the appearance of acne scars and fine lines, and wrinkles. It also kills acne-causing bacteria to help prevent further breakouts.

What Happens During Treatment?

Before treatment begins, your eyes are covered for protection. The BBL Hero applicator is passed over the treatment area. With each light pulse it delivers, you will feel a warming sensation. The integrated thermoelectric monitoring keeps the skin cool and uncomfortable during treatment. After treatment, hyperpigmented areas or vascular lesions will darken. This is a signal that the broadband light reached the intended target.

There is no downtime with BBL Hero. You can return to your regular activities. However, the treated skin will be prone to sunburn. You should avoid direct sunlight for 7 to 14 days following treatment and use sunscreen.

BBL and Halo – Better Together

BBL Hero can be used to enhance the results of other cosmetic skin treatments, including Halo. The two noninvasive treatments are administered in conjunction with each other during the same office visit. A BBL treatment is often administered first and followed up with a Halo treatment, amplifying the results to provide fresh, younger-looking skin.
